E-mail Troubleshooting Guide
Check your e-mails every day! At St. Lawrence, teachers and staff communicate with students via e-mail. It is each student’s responsibility to be informed.
You are a registered student and have not received any e-mails from us yet? Here is a troubleshooting guide:
Problem 1. Your e-mail is incorrectly entered in our data base. If this is the case, your e-mail is incorrect on each of your teacher’s class lists.
Solution: See Betty Ableson (room 235) to make the necessary changes. Or e-mail her (bettya@slc.qc.ca).
Problem 2: The e-mails you receive from St. Lawrence are sent to your JUNK MAIL folder. This often happens when students use hotmail accounts. Certain applied filters automatically trash e-mails.
Solution: Once you are logged on to your hotmail account, click on the “MAIL” tab at the top of the screen.
- Click on the “OPTIONS” button on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Choose the first option, “JUNK E-MAIL PROTECTION”.
- Choose the “SAFE LIST” option (next to last).
- Type the school’s domain (slc.qc.ca) in the box and click “ADD”.
You should now receive all e-mails from St. Lawrence in your normal in-box.
Problem 3: You have barred the “slc.qc.ca” domain from your e-mail address.
Solution: You probably feel that you receive too much mail from the school. Please be advised that by blocking our e-mails, you risk missing important information that is transmitted to all students such as payment deadlines, schedule changes, conferences, workshops, bursary and scholarship information, new services and school closings... among others.
Be informed! It’s up to you!
