Cegep Champlain - St. Lawrence wishes to acknowledge student commitment to activities which enrich college years. Among the goals of our Guideline for the Recognition of Student Involvement are: To develop and maintain a stimulating and motivating learning environment; To increase a sense of belonging; To encourage students to acquire new skills, aptitudes and attitudes; To provide an opportunity for students to define and evaluate personal objectives; To provide St. Lawrence and students with a tool that can be used to complement the student's educational goals and the mission of Champlain Regional College; To provide universities and potential employers with a more comprehensive description of students' competencies and skills.
Your bulletin d'études collégiales can now officially mention prolonged, personal and volunteer commitment to an activity or project. Find out more about the seven areas in which student involvement can be recognized.

Student involvement in t his area aims to improve the quality of people's lives in a spirit of compassion , solidarity, community or improving the social awareness and attitude of a specific group.

Student involvement in this area focuses on the development and/or the imple mentation of a business project.

Student involvement in this area focuses on a scientific or technical project, experiment or topic.
 Student involvement in this area enables other students to succeed. It includes success in promoting academic topics or in achieving h igher standards for oneself. 
Student involvement in this area promo tes student interests and rights. It may also include the organization of or participation in local, provincial, national or international political activ ities.

Student involvement in this area consists of orga nizing or participating in a structured sports activity.

Student involvement in this area leads to the creation or the presen tation of a cultural or artistic event or project.
CAN YOU MAKE IT COUNT? Here are the conditions! Student personal involvement in an activity or project must have lasted for at least 60 hours over a maximum of two semesters. Only students with full-time status and having passed at least 50% of their courses are eligible for recognition during a given semester. Paid activities or those leading to credits cannot be accepted unless the involvement has greatly and clearly surpassed the credits or monetary compensation received for the activity. Activities completed during a semester for which the student was not registered (e .g. summer) are admissible only if they are related to college activities or events. Students must fill out and submit a request form provided by the College for each request for recognition. Students must provide a completed reference form for each request of recognition. </l />It is possible to ask for recognition of student involvement in multiple areas for a given semester, but the time allotted to an activity cannot be recognised more than once. Requests for recognition of student involvement must be completed and submitted to the College within the approved deadlines: APRIL 30 (for the Fall semester), SEPTEMBER 1 (for the Winter semester) and DECEMBER 1 (for the Summer semester). </ />
How can you apply? You may obtain an application form from The Counselling office, room 272 or download and fill-out your form on our homepage. For each request of recognition of student involvement, The student completes a Student Involvement Request Form. The student ensures that a referee complete a Reference Form. The student submits the two completed forms to the Counselling office, room 272 within the prescribed deadline:
