History will help us analyze and understand the social, economic, cultural and political evolution of the United States from the Civil War (1861-1865) to their present status as the major political, economic, military and cultural force in the hemisphere and on the international scene. Topics to be covered include the Civil War, Reconstruction and segregation, the second and third industrial revolutions and their consequences, social and cultural change, reforms at home and abroad, and foreign policy.
